Taihan Cable & Solution is entering the German ultra-high voltage power grid market.
On the 2nd, Taihan Cable & Solution announced that it has recently won two orders for the construction of a 380kV ultra-high voltage power grid in Germany. It supplies ultra-high voltage cables and connectors to TenneT, a European power transmission company. It will perform turnkey design, installation, connection, and testing of power grids. The total cost of the order is KRW 70 billion.
This is the first time Taihan Cable & Solution has won an order for an ultra-high voltage power grid project in Germany. Germany is building an ultra-high voltage power grid to respond to the growing demand for electricity. 380kV is the highest voltage among underground alternating current power grids in Germany, which requires thorough evaluation of the technology and quality. Taihan Cable & Solution was recognized for its performance in the 2019 project to build a 380kV ultra-high voltage power grid in the southern coast of the Netherlands.
Since its British branch was established in 2017, Taihan Cable & Solution has been focusing on targeting the European market. It has won major projects, including the London Power Tunnel Phase 2 (LPT2) project, a large-scale landmark project in the UK. The company has established additional corporations and branches in the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden that runs local sales.
An official from Taihan Cable & Solution said, "We have secured our position in the European market by winning projects from beating many global companies. We will secure additional order opportunities in Europe, where investments are being made for expansion of new and renewable energy.”
