German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek campus on the 5th.

According to industry sources, President Steinmeier and his wife visited Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek factory in the morning and toured the P1 line. It is the first time that a German president has officially visited a Samsung Electronics business site.

In addition to the president, more than 60 people, including members of the German Bundestag, important figures in the business and cultural fields, journalists, and attendants, were part of this visit. Samsung Electronics CEO Kyehyun Kyung (far left) and the Head of the Samsung Electronics Foundry Division Siyoung Choi attended and discussed ways to cooperate in regards to semiconductors between the two countries. President Steinmeier also signed the memory semiconductor wafer.

In addition, at this event, Samsung Electronics announced its efforts in supporting Korea’s bid for the 'World Expo 2030 Busan' (Busan Expo) and requested Germany's support.
