Gaon Chips was recognized for its outstanding semiconductor design support capabilities among design partners of ARM, a global semiconductor design asset (IP) company.
Gaon Chips announced on the 11th that it was recently selected as ARM's 'Best Design Partner of 2020’.The Best Design Partner is awarded to only one company with outstanding design support and service delivery capabilities among the 21 design partners of ARM around the world. With this recognition, Gaon Chips further strengthens its cooperation with ARM.
This selection of the best design partner is an achievement that was highly evaluated for Gaon Chips' ability to support high-performance chip design. Gaon Chips supports fabless companies to develop chips swiftly with ARM core-based IP. Especially, ARM’shardening platform development and design support services are the strengths of Gaon Chips. Fabless companies can maximize chip performance by utilizing ARM’s cutting edge IP through the ARM’s hardening platform. It is particularly advantageous for chip operation speed and power control.
Gaon Chips and ARM’s efforts are to respond to the recent demand for developing high-performance chips such as automotive application processors (APs). Advanced chips such as automotive APs must satisfy various industry demands such as stability, low volt usage, and expandability as well as high performance. The chips require very high computational power as the amount of data to be processed increases and the processing speed needs to be quick.
Eariler, Gaon Chips provided ARM IP, capable of designing high-performance chips, to domestic fabless Telechips and Nextchip. Gaon Chips plans to support domestic fabless companies quickly to utilize the ARM IP and optimize the chip design.
In addition to supporting high-performance chip design, Gaon Chips will expand foundry and post-process optimization services. Gaon Chips CEO Kyudong Jung said, “From this year, we expect mass production and sales growth of products in cooperation with global companies. Our goal is to contribute to the development of the domestic system semiconductor industry together with our consumers.”
