As LG Electronics became the top drum washing machine seller in first quarter in drum washing machine market of the U.S., there are positive signs that indicate that LG Electronics will become the top drum washing machine seller for 10 years in a row.
According to an American market research organization called The Stevenson Company on the 24th, LG Electronics became the first place by taking up 26.4% of market shares based on sales per brand of drum washing machine in first quarter in the U.S. Different between first place and second place is more than 5%.
LG Electronics dominated this market by recording 34.2% even in premium product lines that cost more than $900. Its shares are more than 15% than second place’s market shares.
After becoming the top seller in 2007, LG Electronics had been the top seller for 9 years in a row until last year. Twin-Wash, which was released end of last year, is leading increased sales of drum washing machines this year. More Twin-Washes are being sold than LG Electronics predicted initially.

Major distributors in the U.S. are also very active in selling Twin-Washes. America’s biggest household appliances distributors such as Lowe’s, Sears and others set up separate booths for Twin-Wash and are introducing Twin-Wash separately on their online sites.
LG Electronics is planning to introduce ultra-premium LG signature washing machine, which is based on Twin-Wash and also has ‘Centum System’ that implements high efficiency and low noise, in American markets sometime during first half of this year.
“By putting out premium products such as Twin-Wash in American market that is leading global household appliance trends, we will maintain our number 1 position in drum washing machine market.” said Department Head (President) Cho Sung-jin of LG Electronics’ H&A Business Headquarters.
