LG Electronics is thinking about introducing a new customer care program. Followed by Samsung Electronics and Apple, industries are interested whether or not LG Electronics will also put out a new Smartphone upgrade program. “We are currently thinking about which parts can offer more enjoyable experience to our customers.” said Director (President) Cho Jun-ho of LG Electronics’ MC Business Headquarters at a press conference that was held at Garosu-gil in Shinsa-dong on the 24th. “Although we have yet to decide on a specific method, we are thinking about a new customer care program.”
Starting with iPhone 6S and Galaxy S7 and Edge, Apple and Samsung Electronics are currently implementing a program that allows customers to trade their old phones with a new phone if they pay installments every month. Industries are interested whether or not a customer care program that LG Electronics is thinking about is also going to be a similar program.
Store price of G5 is also going to be decided soon. “We are currently in a final negotiation stage with mobile telecommunication businesses.” said President Cho. “We are planning to make an announcement soon.” There are predictions that store price of G5 will be slightly more expensive than its previous model G4 as G5 has module method on top of high-tech performance. Industries are estimating that its store price will be in early and middle-end of 800,000 KRW ($685).
President Cho also talked about his worries regarding module method that is applied for the first time on G5. Because it is based on a method that detaches and attaches parts that perform particular functions, LG Electronics had to consider its compatibility with next products. “Module is a part that worries me.” said President Cho. “Because it is directly connected to design, I am worried that design of next product (G6) will not be same as design of G5.”
