Wireless communication business called Komatech, which develops and produces its own Freedy wireless charger, wireless charging cases for iPhones and others, is hitting its stride to pioneer foreign markets.

Komatech made an announcement on the 20th that it is focusing on entering foreign markets by having attending CES 2016 that was held in Las Vegas in early 2016 and showing its Freedy wireless charger and mobile charging cases as its opportunities.

Komatech announced that it is currently negotiating detailed contracts with many huge buyers from North America and Europe after it had received many attentions from them.

Komatech especially had received high interests from viewers by exhibiting prototypes that use magnetic resonance method that is receiving spotlight as a future wireless charging technology.

Komatech had set up its botth on the first floor of Sands Expo Exhibition during CES 2016, which was finished on the 9th, and had exhibited magnetic resonance wireless charger (model name: Freedy) with Qi standards that are standardized by WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) and prototypes with medium power (15~20W) with Qi standards.

Komatech had shown that wireless charging technology can be used on tablets, laptops and other household appliances that require more electricity than Smartphones. Also it had introduced wireless charging prototypes with resonance method that was not seen before.

Especially its wireless charging patch can support NFC (Near Field Communication) perfectly and it is receiving recognition as a best product for South Korea’s transportation cards and products markets for payments.

Komatech is currently selling 4 types of wireless chargers as ‘Freedy’ brand.

Not only is Komatech selling wireless charging patch for Samsung’s Smartphones that had come out before Galaxy S6, it is also selling its own wireless charging cases for iPhone users. Wireless charging technology had received many interests since long time ago and it has started to be used on full-scale as Samsung Electronics chose it as one of major basic functions for Galaxy S6 in 2015.

On the other hand, Komatech is currently working very actively to establish wireless charging infrastructures in South Korea.

Starting with demonstration of installing wireless chargers at bus stops in Gwanghwamun at the end of 2015, it is slowly increasing number of wireless chargers.
