Chinese hackers have revealed how to steal user information on the Rgboard, an open-ended bulletin board System (BBS) creator of high popularity. With the situation as it is, urgent is the preparation of preventive measures as at least hundreds of websites are known to have been built with the tool. CN Security (CEO Ryu Seung-woo), a local Web security firm analyzing hacking from China, warned on June 27 that the method has recently been made public on a Chinese hackers’ website. It shows the way hacking files can be added to the spam_img.php of the Rgboard, which makes it possible to infiltrate into the BBS provider’s internal server as well as to take user accounts and passwords. In other words, those local enterprises, organization and individuals running their websites and bulletin boards are already exposed unguardedly to Chinese hackers. Compounding the matter, it has been confirmed that some public agencies used the creator to build their official websites. Rgboard, aware of the potential threat, released security patch version 4.2.1 on June 21. Nonetheless, it carries no warning sign whatsoever about personal information leak. As of noon of June 27, only 60 or so members are found to have checked the notice.
