On August 30, CT&T stated that its electric car e-Zone recently passed all the 17 tests by Spain’s certification organization IDIADA and has acquired EU certification. This certification belongs to the category of entire certification which limits no export amount. European countries, including Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, etc have automobile certification organizations. Once a certification is received from any of these organizations, the certification gets applied to the entire region of Europe. An executive at CT&T explained, “In the case of France and Spain, a subsidy of 5,000 euros (Around 8 million won) is paid when a person buys an electric car. The United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, etc have been stating their plans to provide similar subsidies after next year, if early. As such, the supply of electric cars will increase very rapidly.”Meanwhile, CT&T plans to assemble and manufacture electric cars in Europe from the year 2011.
