LG Electronics has completed the construction of a single instance environment based on Oracle ERP system throughout its operations in Korea and Australia.It will spend KRW 150 billion on the introduction of ERP system throughout its 70 international operations gradually until 2010.The company said on January 20 that it completed the two year long project for the construction of an ERP system to connect operations in Korea and Australia.The single instance environment features the real time information sharing and low cost as it consists of one application and one database for the global operations.The company expects the ERP system will reduce the cost for the development and the management, which had been occurred as the company had maintained systems for each operation. The data had been doubled and all operations had suffered from the same requirement for the system.The company will stabilize the ERP system in Korea and Australia for the next two to three months and begin the ERP system construction in the UK, Germany and Indonesia from this May.Particularly, it will expand the ERP system construction to twenty overseas operations in the next year. Also, within 2010, as many as seventy overseas operations in China, India, the Europe and Asia will share the global ERP system.Managing Director Noh Jae-pyo of the company said, “The single instance environment in Korea and Australia is now beginning to be stabilized. This year, we will kick off the roll-in project for the global ERP solution in the overseas operations.”
