U.S Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) company Intermac is going to produce products from 2nd half of the year. After Alian Technology announced in February that it would produce RFID antenna in Korea and Intermac also comes, Korea is coming up a major production base for RFID R&D and applied goods as well.
Oh Ho Guen, Intermac Korea regional director said, "We are going to manufacture 2 kinds of products and discussing a strategic partnership with D company of middle standing."
At present, Intermac is supplying through ECO and UNM Technology.
The products that Intermac produces through D company are fixed RFID reader which is using 900MHz frequency band and portable scanner with a built-in barcode scan engine to enable reading short to long distance. The company will supply one body type of antenna reader to not only domestic but abroad.
The regional director also mentioned, "We are going to supply RFID module to domestic manufacturer and share some of design know-how. We will decide step by step to expand items after have a result and effeteness of trial production"
The company possesses various lines up for RFID reader, tag, printer, crane, special tag to attach heavy machinery and etc.
The reason why this company promotes Korean production is Korea spreads global RFID technology and service developing the fastest and be considered a land of opportunity to develop applied application.
Meanwhile, Alien Technology established a branch office for managing Asia business in Songdo, Inchon at last February and be planning to produce RFID antenna and reader in Korea in the first half of the year.
