In line with implementation of e-learning promotion programs by the government, leading online education service firms such as HP Korea, YBM Sisa.com, Kyobo Book Center, Hanwha S&C and NDS began intensifying B2B e-learning service business.

Boosted by new programs of the Ministry of Labor supporting e-learning at small and medium businesses, HP Korea recently reinforced e-learning business targeting SMBs and schools by adding content distribution service to its e-learning solution service and portal site. To this end, HP Korea signed partnership contracts with e-learning content providers such as Joongang ICS, Eduwiz, and TGOne. It also plans to form an advisory committee consisting of education specialists.

As a part of its strategy to expand e-learning service business, Kyobo Book Center recently appointed a seasoned expert as a head of its new capacity development service business division. “To meet growing demand for online education, the company is devising a variety of new e-learning services. It may possibly separate the e-learning division as a separate entity in the future,” said Choi In-ho, executive director at Kyobo Book Center.

Having been designated as an Internet-based training organization by the labor ministry last month, YBM Sisa.com launched B2B e-learning service to help workers receive vocational certifications and licenses. The company also revamped its B2C site ‘YBM Pro’ into a B2B site.

Targeting banks and financial service firms, Hanwha S&C, which is operating e-learning site ‘Hanwha Welearning’ has developed e-learning solution for managing online/offline training programs.

"Pinning hope for its fast expansion, an increasing number of large enterprises including Daesung Group jumped into competition in B2B e-learning service market," said an industry observer.
