Alogics(CEO Kim Ju-Deok http://www.alogics.com) announced that it filed a suit against IVNet(CEO Kim Ji-Ho) and Next Chip Solution(CEO Kim Gyeong-Su), the competitors, related to patent infringement on DVR image processing on 29th.
Alogics insists that two competitors have developed and sold DVR as plagiarizing, without any changes, the image processing technique of DVR set for which Alogics holds patent right. Alogics explained that its damages were so serious because Next Chip and IVNet developed without approval and sold the products in cheap prices.

CEO Kim Ju-Deok said, “We asked to stop infringing the patent right as sending warning notices several times. However, these companies didn’t make any reasonable replies. Then, we filed a suit against them. This suit is only against ASIC firms infringing the technologies. However, in the future, we will ask DVR set manufacturers to stop using technologies without approval.”

For this suit, Executive Director Kim Dong-Uk of Next Chip Solution explained, “The patented technology of Alogics is the basic contents in DVR image processing technology. After we received the warning notice from Alogics, we filed the invalidation trial on Aug. 29th.” And he implied the intensive countermeasure as saying that this patent infringement suit was only against two companies, but DVR chip makers decided to actively engage in the invalidation trial with cooperation.
