"The key to success is providing customized customer relationship management (CRM) solutions." Domestic CRM firms are tapping into the customized solution market in earnest with optimized sales and market services.

Their latest moves came as homemade solutions continue to gain competitive edge in the specified CRM area that provides customer need-oriented solutions, rather than in the analysis and operation markets where leading foreign firms such as Sibel, Oracle, SAP, NCR and SAS are reigning in.

In particular, homegrown CRM firm are advancing into the sales force automation or SFA solution market at full speed targeting financial institutions and pharmaceutical companies.

CNM Technology (http://www.cnmtech.com) has provided its SFA CRM solution to Daewoong Pharmaceutical, R.P. Scherer, Youngjin Pharmacetical and Small Business Corporation`s Training Center, and is now poised to seal supply deals with 4 financial institutions.

The company expects to record 10 billion won in sales this year by beefing up SFA solutions targeting finance, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, retail and service sectors.

Uniboss (http://www.uniboss.co.kr) has recently unveiled a SFA CRM solution dubbed `Sales Sellpha` and is in talks with Hyundai Marine Insurance, Samsung Life and Hyundai Securities. The company targets 20 billion won in sales this year.

Ubiz System, BI CNS, Epion Tech and Wise iTech have also developed SFA solutions and set out to tap into the credit card and commercial bank markets.

Core Logix (http://www.corelogix.co.kr) and mForce (http://www.emfoce.co.kr) have introduced database marketing solutions `Noetics` and `Cruise` respectively and are tapping into the market in earnest. In addition, e-mail marketing firms such as Info Web, Neo Cast and Ad Balloon are rushing to develop DB marketing solutions.

"Specified CRM solutions are gaining competitive edge in the market, providing sales automation, DB marketing and computer telephony integration services that fit into the domestic enterprise environment," said Hong Jung-hwa, marketing director at Oracle Korea.

"It is important, however, for customized solutions to establish a link with database management system, enterprise resource planning and supply chain systems located at customer sites," she added.
