Super Solution (CEO Kim Sung-hyeon), a South Korean authorized distributor for Supermicro, announced on Sunday that it would start supplying Supermicro’s new X12 server platform that supports Intel’s 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable processors.
The 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors (code name: Ice Lake) can deliver up to 40 cores per processor and support up to 6TB of system memory, 8 channels of DDR4-3200 memory, and 64 lanes of PCle-E4.0 and it has improved average performance by 46% during data center workloads.
It also has strengthened built-in security features through Intel’s SGX (Software Guard Extension) and it has raised performance of an AI workload up to 74% compared to its previous generation through various AI accelerators such as Intel Deep Learning Boost and software (SW) optimization.
Supermicro supports the 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors at an optimal environment with its expanded X12 server platform. The company has established about 100 X12 optimized systems such as Hyper, SuperBlade, Twin families, CloudDC, and GPU.

The X12 system is applied with water cooling system in order to manage even stronger heat. Not only does the cooling system removes limitations of the current air cooling method, but it can also effectively reduce TCO (total cost of ownership) of data centers.
Also, X12 GPU systems effectively support 4U 8 GPU systems, which are for large-scale AI training, 2U 2-node GPU systems that provide improved power efficiency for cloud-based games and streaming, and machine learning applications.
A representative from Super Solution said that Supermicro’s X12 systems optimize the latest processors and they are excellent for collecting various data through AI and Cloud and they can accelerate computing and AI application processing speed even faster.
