Products from Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have swept CES Innovation Awards honors with “CES 2021”, which is the world’s biggest IT event, set to be held next month. They have displayed their leadership in IT technology as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics received 44 Innovation Awards honors including Best of Innovation accolades and 24 Innovation Awards honors including Best of Innovation accolades respectively.
The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced products that were awarded CES Innovation Awards honors from 28 different categories on December 15 (U.S. time). Samsung Electronics was awarded 44 Innovation Awards honors including 4 Best of Innovation accolades. 4 Best of Innovation accolades came from categories of TVs and mobile devices. When it comes to the category of TVs, Samsung Electronics has set an astonishing record of earning a Best of Innovation Award for ten years in a row. The company received 16 Innovation Awards honors, 3 Innovation Awards honors, and 1 Innovation Award honor from categories of TVs, audio, and monitors respectively. It also received 9 Innovation Awards honors, 11 Innovation Awards honors, and 4 Innovation Awards honors from categories of home appliances, mobile devices, and semiconductors respectively.
From the TV category, the company’s next-generation display and smart TV accessibility were awarded with Best of Innovation accolades. Its 2021 products, lifestyle products such as “The Premiere” and “The Terrace Soundbar” that were released recently, and its “TV Plus” service received Innovation Awards honors. From the home appliance category, its “Family Hub” and “Bespoke” refrigerators and personalized kitchen appliances such as “Slide-In” range received the honors. Its Family Hub refrigerator and Bespoke refrigerator have received Innovation Awards for six and two years in a row respectively.
From the mobile device category, variety of its products including “Galaxy Note 20 5G and Ultra 5G” and “Galaxy Buds + BTS Edition” that received Best of Innovation Awards accolades and “Galaxy Z Flip 5G”, “Galaxy A51 5G”, “Galaxy Buds Live”, “Galaxy Watch 3, and “Samsung DeX” received Innovation Awards honors. It received 5 Innovation Awards honors just from its wearable devices and it has proven its rapid progress in the field once again. Its Galaxy Buds Live was also awarded with an Eco-Design Award as it was recognized for having increased lifespan by using recyclable materials and being designed with replaceable parts. From the semiconductor category, smart SSD 4TB, uMCP, and LM283N+ were awarded Innovation Awards honors.

LG Electronics also won 24 Innovation Awards honors including Best of Innovation accolades. Its 48-inch OLED TV and InstaView refrigerator that is able to open its doors through voice command were awarded Best of Innovation accolades from the gaming category and the home appliances category respectively. LG OLED TV were awarded 5 Innovation Awards honors from categories of gaming, video display, and sustainability, eco-design, and smart energy. Since 2013 when the TV was released for the first time, it has won Innovation Award for nine years in a row.
Its Styler, which is widely known as one of the best clothing care systems, has received Innovation Award for three years in a row after it was recognized for the company’s patented technologies such as TrueSteam technology that boils water at 100 degrees and moving hanger technology that dusts off clothes up to 200 times. The company’s electronic mask that is based on the company’s knowhow and PuriCare air purifier technology was also awarded with Innovation Award honor. In addition to these products, the company’s Craft Ice refrigerator that is able to make high-quality round ice, WashTower that combines a washing machine and dryer into a single unit, AI DD (Direct Drive) washing machine and dual inverter heat pump dryer set, LG CordZero A9S wireless vacuum cleaner, LG UltraGear gaming monitor and ultrawide monitor, LG Gram 17, LG CineBeam Laser 4K, and 5G Smartphone LG Velt and LG Wing also received Innovation Awards honors.
