Domestic DVR(Digital Video Recorder) companies grew remarkably in the fourth quarter of last year, exporting products 5~6 times as much as they exported in the third quarter.
According to a survey conducted by the DVR industry on 11 major DVR companies, which was released on the 3rd, the total amount of exports by leading DVR companies for the fourth quarter of last year stood at 16.73 billion won.
The average exports per DVR company reached 1.5 billion won, a 75 percent increase from 860 million won in the third quarter. Accordingly, the combined exports of the DVR companies for last year stood at 45.47 billion won, which is 6 billion more than the domestic demand of 39.62 billion won.
In addition, the combined revenues of the 11 DVR companies was 93 billion won. Codicom exported products worth 3.56 billion won in the fourth quarter, which is 1.5 billion won up from the previous quarter.
Codicom is expected to maintain its overseas sales strategy of using a local company with technology and sales network because direct entry into overseas markets will take too much maintenance costs.
This year the company plans to secure business partners by taking part in overseas exhibitions, which will be held in the United States, Britain, China, etc.
Sungjin C&C recorded exports worth 4.3 billion in the fourth quarter, which is five times as much as it recorded in the third quarter.
The company is expected to record an export increase this year as it is expected to extend its supply contract with Bicon, a US company, within March and sign new contracts with a few large-scale business partners.
Sungjin C&C`s strategies are to greatly increase the number of marketing personnel, establish a joint venture in China and enhance an organic cooperation with big security equipment companies by integrating entrance, exit and alarm systems with other systems.
3R also accomplished 500 percent increase in exports in the fourth quarter with exports worth 1.21 billion won. In the third quarter, the export of the company was only 220 million won.
3R is expected to increase its exports this year. The company, which set up local corporations in the United States and China and has let local corporations deal with local business partners, plans to focus on the Latin America and French markets with its overseas sales team in charge and start an OEM method production and supply this year as well.
Along with the above-mentioned companies, Whiensis, an embedded type DVR company, exported products worth 2.4 billion won in the fourth quarter, a 1.6 billion won up from the previous quarter. Comart System also recorded an export increase of 170 million won compared to the third quarter.
