Y2Solution plans to enter the North American EV charger market with a power supply for rapid charging.

On the 27th, Y2Solution announced that it will set up an independent booth (private booth) at 'CES 2023' event that will be held in Las Vegas in January, and introduce a 30kW power supply device to domestic and foreign EV charger manufacturers.

This device converts alternating current (AC) power to direct current (DC), and the converter regulates the output voltage to accommodate the car battery's needs. It is applied with a silicon carbide (SiC)-based MOSFET, and minimizes current loss. The device provides up to 96% power efficiency and a compatible voltage output from 150V to 1000V according to Y2 Solution.

Y2Solutionused to make power supplies for TVs, but it began to develop power supplies for EVrapid chargers in 2018 as part of a new business. The company paid attention to the growth of the EV market, and succeeded in developing a 35kW power supply unit with an EV charger manufacturer, Klinelex, this March. The cost of power supply is nearly half of the total cost of an EV charger, and power supply was depended on on Chinese products.

Starting with the US exhibition, Y2Solution plans to establish a sales office in the US, and begin to enter the North American market. The company expects the market to expand as the US government is investing more than $5 billion (KRW 6.33 trillion) to build 500,000 EV charging stations by 2030. It plans to differentiate itself with high-capacity and high-efficiency, and has set a goal of developing a 50kW power supply unit in the new year. Y2 Solution recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with KEC, a semiconductor device manufacturer.

SeokhwanKang, CEO of Y2Solution, said, "We will provide the best charging solution to the North American market with our technology accumulated over 40 years.”
