The Ministry of the Interior and Safety held the ‘The 39th Regional Digitization Research Project Presentation’ for two days from September 26 to September 27 with 200 public officials in charge of digitization from local governments across the country.

The 'Regional Digitization Research Project Presentation Contest' has been held annually since 1984, making rounds in 17 cities and provinces with the participation of public officials in charge of digitization of each local government to present and share regional digitization research projects.

The 39th presentation contest was held in Chungcheongbuk-do. This year, research projects in various fields using digital technology were presented
The Presidential Award was awarded to Chungcheongnam-do, which presented a project with the the theme of 'Simple Calculation of Travel Expenses to Reduce Time and Increase Efficiency'.

Incheon Metropolitan City presented about the Expanded Reality (XR) Extended Virtual World (Metaverse) Incheon Joint Project' and won the Prime Minister's Award.

Seoul Metropolitan City, Busan Metropolitan City, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Daejeon Metropolitan City, Gyeonggi Province, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province were awarded the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.
After the announcement, Bo-ram Seo, director of the Digital Government Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, gave a special lecture on 'Digital Platform Government Promotion Plan'.


She used her time to talk about the policy direction of the digital platform government, which is the core agenda of the current government, and for everyone to think about the role of the those in charge of digitization towards achieving the goals of the digital platform government of local governments.

Bo-ram Seo, director of the Digital Government Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety said, “It was thanks to the solid foundation of Digital Government Bureau and the dedication of the public officials in charge of digitization that we were able to provide the necessary services in a timely manner even in a crisis such as COVID-19. We expect that the research task announced today will be of great help in achieving the digital platform government, which is the main task of the current government, in local governments.”
