Ja-eun Koo, chairman of LS Group started on-site management of major subsidiaries in South Korea over 3 months period.

Chairman Koo who took office this year and CEO of LS Corp., Reo-hyun Myung, started on-site management by visiting 14 subsidiaries and subsidiaries of subsidiaries in Chungcheong, Gyeongsang, and Jeolla regions from May to July to look over the Group business.

In April and May, they participated in LS Cable & System’s subsidiary, GL Marine’s event for launch of the 'GL2030', a dedicated submarine power cable laying vessel. They also participated in the completion ceremony of the LS EV Korea plant which is dedicated to electric vehicle parts established in Gunpo.

Chairman Koo and CEO Myung visited business sites located in Chungcheong Province starting with Toricom, a subsidiary of LS Nikko Copper in Asan, Chungnam, LS ELECTRIC in Cheonan, and Cheongju, LS Cable's subsidiary GNPwood, and Sejong Cable.

Toricom is No. 1 company in the recycling of precious metals in Korea. Chairman Koo and CEO Myung received the report on the business status and looked around the precious metal extraction production line and requested, “In the future, we will further increase the proportion of high-value-added semiconductor materials, electrical and electronic materials, so please try the best in order for LS Nikko Copper and Toricom to become comprehensive materials companies in the high-tech industry.”

After that visit, Chairman Koo visited LS ELECTRIC's Cheonan and Cheongju plants to encourage employees and said, "LS ELECTRIC's Cheonan plant is a key base for providing smart factory-related hardware and solutions to South Korean companies, so I hope this company will become the global automation company though integrating future robotic business.”

LS Group's on-site management has been a tradition that has been passed on since the founding of the first chairman to further strengthen the main and new businesses and promote innovation in the industrial field.

In June, Chairman Koo will visit LS Cable & System's Gumi and Indong plants located in Gyeongsang Province, LS ELECTRIC's subsidiaries such as LS Mecapion, LS Metal, and LS Nikko Copper Onsan Smelter. In July, they will visit LS Mtron in Jeolla and Gaon Cable, a subsidiary of LS Cable &System, in turn. They also plan to inspect not only domestic sites but also overseas business sites to check the status of global business.
