JOONGWOO M-Tech showcases world-class Through glass via substrates for semiconductors based on glass precision processing technology(LMCE : Laser Modification Chemical Etching) in 2022 EMK exhibition at COEX in Samsung-dong, Seoul from Apr 13(Wed) to 15(Fri).
JOONGWOO M-Tech’s core technology is to make fine holes by using Glass instead of Silicon which is used for interposer materials of Semiconductor. Unlike Silicon, which has a large loss of radio waves, Glass can minimize power consumption and increase data transmission speed. Even though the needs for glass materials is increasing due to the rapid speed in data transmission, expansion of artificial intelligence and 5G/6G communication technology, it was considered a limitation that it is difficult to precisely process thin glass. However, JOONGWOO M-Tech has secured a crack-free and defect-free processing technology that can precisely process 3㎛-sized fine holes and over 7,000 holes per second.
Officials have revealed that “TGV is in the early stage, but it will become a standard in the market. It is the area of infinite development for the next 10 years and JOONGWOO M-Tech aims to become a technology driven company recognized by anyone beyond the world level based on unique technologies that even big companies do not have.”
