A South Korean cryptocurrency research center is going to hold South Korea’s first seminar to celebrate 10-year anniversary of Bitcoin.
According to industries, Korea University’s Cryptocurrency Research Center is planning to hold an event on the 3rd of January to celebrate birthdate of genesis block of Bitcoin.
Korea University’s Cryptocurrency Research Center was established on the 23rd of March to research academic and social issues. It currently has Professor Kim Hyung-joong of Korea University Graduate School of Information Security as the director.
3rd of January of 2019 will be the 10-year anniversary of genesis block of Bitcoin. Satoshi Nakamoto inserted a front-page title of London Times, into genesis block. He criticized the fact that governments were aiding large financial institutions and emphasized decentralization of Bitcoin.

Korea University’s Cryptocurrency Research Center is going to look into different phenomena that have occurred due to birth of cryptocurrency. It is planning to discuss about appearance of new blockchain industry, ICO (Initial Coin Offering) and appearance of new financing methods, and establishment of profit-sharing economic platforms such as Steemit.
To hold a successful seminar, it is going to set up a separate committee for preparation. It is also going to look into working with other cryptocurrency research centers and blockchain institutions for this seminar, which is going to be held at Korea University’s Future Convergence Technology Hall.
“We are planning to look into changes that cryptocurrencies have brought to our economy and society after appearance of Bitcoin.” said Director Kim Hyung-joong. “Although there had been other seminars related to blockchain, this seminar will be meaningful from the fact that it is going to celebrate 10-year anniversary of Bitcoin.”
Meanwhile, Korea University’s Cryptocurrency Research Center held ‘First Examination of Mainnet’ to increase competitive edge of South Korean blockchain companies.
