SAKUN(en.sakun.co.kr) is an e-commerce site for a street fashion brand carrying hoodies, MTM t-shirts and others and is drawing great attention with its unique designs of Korean traditional culture. Its character on each product is a boy who was born a goblin and Jangseung, a Korean totem pole, also known as guardians of Korean people.
CEO Kang Yeon-Suk of SAKUN is a well-known design artist under the name of Kun. Since the beginning of 2000, he has built up SAKUN brand along with its character. Recently, it has made the entry in the global market.
CEO Kang said, “SAKUN is aiming to grow into a culture based brand, covering all fields including fashion, painting, interior, art toys and many more.”
SAKUN has provided a number of hit products. One of the hottest selling items called “Big-Bang Mask Sheets” was CEO Kang’s idea. He emphasized styles of fashion items rather than its unique features of blocking dust or keeping warm.

These products also became global hit items after these were worn by famous celebrities. Among recently released items, ‘Hope’ word on T-shirts with photos of historical people touched many customers.
SAKUN’s major customers are men and women who are in their 10s- 30s. Those who are attracted to cultural contents of SAKUN, continue to look for its online shop even after they become 30s.
CEO Kang has strengthened its competitive edge while following a rule of manufacturing in Korea and has manufactured all of subsidiary materials for clothing and accessories in Korea; thus, winning favorable feedback from global buyers.

SAKUN launched its English and Chinese versions of the site through cafe24(www.cafe24corp.com/en), a global e-commerce platform in 2015. It expanded out brick-and mortar business by selling its products at one of the largest department stores in China. It plans to officially launch its brand in the first half of next year in Japan and to expand in the USA, Europe and South American.
