Samsung Electronics has declared to lead IoT generation by suggesting its method of vitalizing IoT and starting a strategic consultative group with Intel.
Samsung Electronics held ‘IoT Policy Dialogue’ at headquarters of The Washington Post, which is located in Washington D.C., on the 21st (U.S. time) to discuss solutions to develop and expand positive influences that IoT will bring to societies.
Vice-Chairman Kwon Oh-hyeon made a keynote speech with a topic of ‘Human-Centered IoT’ and also made an announcement of co-foundation of ‘National IoT Strategic Consultative Group’ with Intel.
Starting with Washington DC, Samsung Electronics are planning to work with industries so that IoT policies that were developed in major cities in Asia, Europe and others can be established.
Vice-Chairman Kwon emphasized that human-centeredness, openness and cooperation are must to have IoT bring innovations to entire societies and expand its influence. “Mankind is facing a new generation called IoT and it is already making our lives and ways of work smarter and more effective.” said Vice-Chairman Kwon. “Although IoT is only bringing changes to personal lives, it needs to expand its influence to entire societies and bring innovations.”
To regularize IoT, he also stressed that openness and cooperation are must and that all technologies need to be connected through openness.
“Problems such as protection of personal information, security and others that are expected to rise due to expansion of IoT need to be solved clearly through development of technologies and participations and debates from each industry.” said Vice-Chairman Kwon. “However introduction of regulations in particular fields need to be adjusted before IoT starts to expand.”
