Kim Soo-Hyun Is a Top South Korean Actor
‘Kim Soo-Hyun Phone’, also known as a ‘Phone from a Star’ is gaining popularity in China. SS Comtech Co., Ltd. made an announcement that ZUK Phone, also known as ‘Kim Soo-Hyun Phone’, has surpassed 2.7 million reservations on jd.com, which is an online commercial transaction site.
Lenovo, which is the manufacturer of this phone, expects that there will be about 4 million demands for Kim Soo-Hyun Phone this year. ‘Hallyu Star Phone Development Technology’, which is a joint company of SS Comtech, and Beijing Singi Factory Science and Technology Corporation finished a contract regarding publicity of portrait right of Kim Soo-hyun on the 11th of last month and have been pushing this business. Lenovo Group including Beijing Singi Factory Science and Technology Corporation was in charge of manufacturing, distribution, sales, and advertisement of this phone while SS Comtech and Hallyu Star Phone Development Technology developed applications that will be built in Kim Soo-Hyun Phone.
‘ZUK Kim Soo-Hyun Star Phone’ is implemented through an application that is built in a Star Phone. Corresponding application provides pictures, voice, related articles of Kim Soo-hyun, who is popular in China for a South Korean drama called My Love from Another Star. It is a first Hallyu star-themed phone that combines Smartphone and contents.
SS Comtech is expecting at least $25.9 million (30 billion KRW) of net profit from Kim Soo-Hyun Phone business in China because about $17.3 (20,000 KRW) per phone comes back as service profit cost.
Fan meeting by Kim Soo-hyun that was held on the 24th of last month has helped increasing demands of ‘Kim Soo-Hyun Phone’. It was an event that was held after 3 months of delay. ( ) had to cancel a fan meeting, which was scheduled for the 24th of December of last year, due to safety issues.
Although SS Comtech is an engineering plastic business, it has expanded its business towards app service to secure Cash Cow. It has been working with Hallyu Star Phone Development Technology, which is specialized for development of mobile contents of Hallyu Stars, since end of last year. It is going to cost about $346 (400,000 KRW) per Kim Soo-Hyun Phone in China.
