Samsung put out ‘Comprehensive Measure for Young People for Their Jobs’ on the 17th. Main point of this measure is to provide jobs and opportunities for employment education to 30,000 young people by investing $84.5 million (100 billion KRW) for next 2 years.

Samsung is establishing ‘Samsung’s Stepping Stone for Employment’ Program, which will act as a stepping stone for Samsung’s cooperative companies’ job seekers to be employed, and supporting 3000 people to be employed. By expanding ‘Personalized Departments for Society’ such as Meister Schools, characterized departments at universities, and others, it is educating 1,600 talented people. It is also making 4,000 new positions for internships where one can experience work and also in financial business field.

Through nurturing program where one can become a software engineer even if he or she did not major in software and Daegu Center for Creative Economy & Innovation Entrepreneurship Consulting, Samsung is providing education, which will support to vitalize entrepreneurship, to 11,400 young people.

Samsung’s stepping stone for employment is a coexisting cooperation program between Samsung’s affiliates and Samsung’s cooperative companies. It will provide internship and job training, which will act as a stepping stone for young people to be employed, to Samsung’s cooperative companies’ job seekers. After selecting 3,000 young people, these people will go through 3 months of job training at Samsung and 3 months of internship at cooperative companies. After training and internship, this system will lead these people to be employed at cooperative companies. Samsung will take care of all pays ($1,270 (1.5 million KRW)) per month) during job training. If these people go through Employment Stepping Stone Program and work for more than 4 years at cooperative companies, then Samsung will support them in being employed at Samsung’s affiliates.

‘Cooperative Companies Employment Festival’, which was held annually centered around electronic affiliates such as Samsung Electronics, Samsung SEM, Samsung SDI, and others, will be expanded up to heavy construction and service affiliates such as Samsung C&T, Samsung Heavy Industries, Hotelshilla, and others and will be held every year in November.

Samsung is also expanding personalized departments for society that is connected to Meister School, and characterized departments at universities. By establishing nurturing process of facility engineers at universities in Daegu and Kyeongbuk region, it is going to nurture and educate talented young people to be personalized for specific businesses. Samsung has been helping talented people who are suitable for society in software, hardware, retail distribution, and environment safety fields by making industrial-educational cooperation with 29 universities and 9 technical colleges. It is currently helping personalized talented people at 26 Meister Schools such as Suwon Hi-tech High School, Dongah Meister High School, Chonbuk Mechanical Technical High School, Wonju Medical Instruments High School, and others in all of Korea.

These people will experience at branches in all of Korea and they will be paid $1,270 per month. It is planning to actively lead excellent people to be employed. Samsung is also planning to create 2,000 new positions in financial business field such as insurance planners, investment solicitors, and others.

Through new investments in Samsung Electronics’ semiconductor Pyeongtaek Complex, Hotelshilla Duty Free Shop and Shilla Stay, extension of Samsung Biologics’ 2•3 factories, Everland Park Hotel, and others, Samsung set up a plan to newly create about 10,000 job positions.

On a separate note, Samsung is running education processes such as non-major software education, entrepreneurship consulting that is tied to Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, and others to vitalize youth start-ups. It decided to expand its program, which helps non-majors into software engineers, to 6,400 people at 30 universities and 20 technical colleges. It is running separate education by newly selecting 400 people who did not major in software especially at universities in Daegu and Kyeongbuk region, where there are Centers for Creative Economy & Innovation. It decided to provide entrepreneurship education, which utilizes Daegu Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, to 5,000 people for 2 years hereafter.
