Interpark is maintaining their MVNO business because of previously joined 11 members.

Interpark has started their MVNO business in August of 2013 by releasing ‘Interpark Cube’. Interpark Cube have been produced from Chinese company via ODM method. Interpark provided the machine for free, just receiving payment for service usage.

November of that year, they had created a space exclusively for MVNO in their homepage. They distributed phones via variety of carriers such as CJ Hello Vision, SK Tell Link, etc.

January of last year, they had fused Interpark Cube into Korea post and strengthened the MVNO business.

Interpark official said “The demand for MVNO is continuously rising. It is recommended for people that are burdened with costly smartphone bills.”

However there was secret to Interpark’s MVNO business. The secret was that it wasn’t a self-run business. The phones that were sold in Interpark MVNO phone section and Interpark Cube were actually sold as sale agents for Eyesvision, a minor MVNO phone seller.

And despite the fact, the reason why Interpark still is keeping their spot is because they had another MVNO business going on.

Interpark was able to process their MVNO business without the phones was by electronics book. This company is running a electronic book brand called ‘Biscuit’.

According to Interpark, Biscuit machines that came out before 2010 uses 3rd gen network. It does not support WiFi function therefore registration to a carrier was necessary. Interpark borrowed network from telecommunication carrier to provide service for Biscuit, just like normal MVNO businesses.

However, because the sale records were not satisfying, Interpark started sending mails and calls to members to withdraw from the service. Yet, there were people that could not be reached and refused to withdraw. Therefore, they had to continue their service forcefully.

Interpark revealed on the 16th that they have 11 members currently.
