It seems as soon as the network interworking test for Samsung’s new smartphone ‘Galaxy S6’ is finished by next week, the production of the phones will begin. After surveying the customers’ response to the product, the mobile carriers are now on the move to secure sufficient amount supply.

According to the mobile communication industry on the 11th, SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+ will be finishing up the network interworking test for Galaxy S6 that they started with Samsung Electronics last month.

One of the staff of mobile carrier said, “We are almost done with the network interworking test and is expecting it to be completely finished by next week. Once the test is over, production domestic portion will begin.”

Network interworking test is to check whether the testing model functions correctly under the communication network of each carrier. Only after going through this evaluation can the production begin.

The Galaxy S6, which will officially be released on the 10th of next month, is set to be released 400~500 thousand phones domestically. There is possibility of insufficient number of supplying phones because of exceeding pre-order number to the initial production number of 13 million phones. Especially the supplying amount of Galaxy S6 Edge is concerned. Yet, as much as Samsung is aware of the importance of domestic market, analysts believe there will be enough quantity.

An official said, “Because Samsung knows how important the domestic market is and that they have to compete against the increase of Apple’s domestic market share. Therefore Samsung will provide enough supply.”

The carriers are all lowering the price on Galaxy S5 and preparing for the arrival of the new product. LG U+ lowered each Galaxy S5 and S5 LTE-A by 207 USD and 178 USD. SKT and KT also lowered their S5 LTE-A down by 178 USD. The companies are trying to get rid of S5 stocks before the new S6 arrives.

Praises for Galaxy S6 seems to never cease in both Korean and outside the country. Established in 1984, Display Mate rated Galaxy S6 OLED display technology ‘Excellent A’ rating, adding, “It has the most excellent specifications out of all the smart phones we have tested so far.”

In the morning of the same day, president Jongkyun Shin of Samsung Electronics IM department showed his anticipation for the new product by asking the reporters of the people’s responses to Galaxy S6.
