Samyung ENC (CEO Hwang Won) released the world’s first IT-based electronic buoy and fishing net control system GNB-400. With the aid of it, nets in the sea can be located and retrieved swiftly by means of the GPS floater and electronic chart display and information system (ECDIS).
GNB-400’s biggest merit is an easy installation and accurate tracking. When the system is on, nets’ current locations are displayed immediately on the GPS floater. The shortest routes can be taken to approach them and the possibility of losing them becomes zero. The locations are known only to the vessels the system is installed in.
The new product is expected to contribute much to fuel cost reduction, which has been the number one headache for many in the fishing industry. The battery in the electronic buoy can last for up to six months.
