Domestic LCD equipment makers are shifting attention to Taiwanese LCD companies` 5G line investments as LG Phillips` LCD 6G equipment orders are nearing to an end.

According to the related industry on August 6, Inolux will start placing orders for 5G (1100×1300㎜) line equipment in the second half, and Chimei will also start 2nd phase investments into 5G (1100×1300㎜) line.

Inolux plans to operate 5G mass production lines that can produce 35 thousand units per month from the 4th quarter of next year. Also, Chimei is gearing up to make 2nd phase 5G investments of a similar scale.

Accordingly, domestic equipment makers are forming organizations for operations in Taiwan, while dispatching businessmen to the country in order to receive orders from those Taiwanese companies.

In particular, officials from Inolux and Chimei are vising Korea to conduct due dilligence on domestic equipment makers.

Officials say that Taiwan`s 5G line investments will be helpful to Korean companies as they are to be made after LG Phillips` LCD 6G line equipment orders.

An industry official said, "A large number of domestic companies have provided equipment to Taiwanese LCD panel companies, and also Taiwanes companies are shifting to a multi-band strategy that have multiple partners like Samsung and LG."

In the meantime, Jusung Engineering and KCTech have already provided CVD and cleaning equipment to Chimei`s 5G 1st phase lines, while Top Engineering and Phaicom have provided equipment to Taiwan`s Hanstar.
