Statistics Korea’s Statistical Data Seoul Sangam Center has been established at the 'Big Data Campus' in Sangam-dong, operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Big data analysis, which linked public and private data from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Statistics Korea, becomes possible.

The Big Data Campus is a big data analysis service platform that supports free sharing, analysis, and utilization of private and public data collected by the city of Seoul. It began in July 2016. An open source-based analysis platform is provided so that anyone has access to utilize, analyze, and use the data data. There will be analysis specialists available to help if users have difficulty using the analysis program.

The Statistical Data Center is a data platform operated by Statistics Korea since November 2018 to link and analyze the statistical data owned by the Statistics Korea and data from other public and private institutions. Statistics Korea and the Seoul Metropolitan Government collaborated to establish the Seoul Sangam Center for Statistical Data within the Big Data Campus as users of the existing Jung-gu Center significantly increased and requested for additional location.

When users visit the Statistical Data Center, they can directly link various large-scale data for in-depth analysis via strengthened security infrastructure. Consulting and on-demand analysis services can be requested through full-time analysts. It is operating base centers in five regions, including Seoul and Busan.

The Big Data Campus, which oversees Seoul Big Data, and the Statistics Data Center, which provides statistical data from Statistics Korea, are located in one place, and making it possible to view, analyze, and utilize data from both institutions simultaneously. Users had to visit each facility to view, analyze, and utilize data previously.

Users can have access to 74 types of private and public data owned by Seoul including credit card sales, logistics information, living finance, consumption behavior, population/movement, public transportation, etc., and 52 types of data owned by Statistics Korea, which includes 17 types of statistical registers such as population, households and businesses and 35 types of  private data. Public data will continue to expand.

Users can also use the 'Micro Data Use Center (RDC) service', which provides processed data on the web by Statistics Korea.

Data for each institution can be accessible after submitting an application on the each website.
Users can apply for the Seoul Big Data Campus on the Big Data Campus website, and for the Seoul Sangam Statistical Data Center on the Statistics Data Center website.
