'Global Tech Korea 2021’ will be held on September 6th, which is a tech conference to focus on the present and future vision of the high-tech industry centered on semiconductors, displays, and batteries, and promote global cooperation.
'Global Tech Korea 2021,’ hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and supervised by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) and the Electronic Newspaper, was organized to prepare for the rapidly changing future of the global electronics industry through collaboration with Korea's cutting-edge technology and overseas companies. There will be a large number of industry tech leaders who are leading innovation in the field participating and presenting a vision for the future at the conference, held on September 6 for four days under the theme of 'Contact K-tech, Meet the Future.’
Following the opening ceremony at 2 pm on the 6th, Samsung Electro-Mechanics President Kyehyun Kyung will deliver the first keynote speech. President Kyung is the CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics, a leading Korean electronic component company and world market leader. President Kyung diagnoses the untact (no-contact) culture, digital transformation, and changes in perception of life that COVID-19 brought, and introduces technological innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data that have been accelerated by this new-era. In response to the rapidly changing external environment, Samsung Electro-Mechanics will share its preparations, efforts, and innovations for 'The Better Normal’. This is the first time President Kyung has attended an external event since the appointment of the CEO.
SK Hynix vice president (CTO) Jinkook Kim presents a vision for memory semiconductors that will play a key role in the era of great digital transformation. The memory semiconductor industry has focused on implementing 'high-speed, low-power, and large-capacity' performance according to application (app) and market demand. However, he is trying to solve social problems such as energy shortage and climate change and to create a better world. Vice President Kim will introduce Hynix's future technology development direction and emphasize the need for industry-university-research cooperation to navigate the technological and industrial inflection points in the era of great digital transformation.
Chairman of Merck, a German material company with over 350 years of history, Kai Beckmann, will speak to share the paradigm shift and future vision of the electronics industry. While rapid technological progress is being made due to COVID-19, data-driven changes are taking place. Chairman Beckmann introduces Merck's strategies and solutions to cope with megatrends. Beckmann is in charge of Merck's electronic materials business.
Applied Materials of the US, the world's leading semiconductor equipment maker, will also participate in the conference. Vice President Raman Achutharaman, who oversees Applied Materials' semiconductor equipment technology, strategy and marketing, presents the present and future of semiconductor wafer equipment technology that has changed as the world enters the AI -era. He will introduce the background of the acceleration of 'Performance, Power, Amplitude, Cost, Time' (PPACt) and materials engineering solutions based on PPACt in depth, and offer alternatives to semiconductor equipment technology for the future.
Global Tech Korea 2021 will be broadcast live on the online website. Those who pre-register on the website can watch it for free.
