A South Korean EdTech startup called GeniRobot (CEO Lee Eun-seung) plans to expand its business towards older generations through cooperation with Yonsei University’s Psychological Science Innovation Institute (Director Han Sang-hoon).
GeniRobot announced on Wednesday that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the institute regarding industry-university cooperation for studies on prevention of Alzheimer’s disease particularly for seniors.
The agreement between the company and the institute will expand the range of an education based on robot and LIMS platform that used to be for kindergartners and elementary schoolers towards seniors.
It is expected to improve psychological health of adults particularly seniors and provide new energy to the wellness industry in South Korea.

With this cooperation, GeniRobot and the institute plan to establish an industry-university-institute network, prepare for more joint studies, participate in R&D and development of fundamental technologies, provide support for technology transfer and commercialization, and share equipment.
“We expect that a meeting between excellent technologies of a promising ICT company and basic research results of psychological science will create effective synergy in prevention of Alzheimer’s disease for seniors.” said Director Han Sang-hoon of the institute. “We hope that we can create quality results through the cooperation and make contributions towards South Korea’s psychological health and wellness industries.”
CEO Lee Eun-seung of GeniRobot said that the company has been preparing to expand its program so that it would prevent Alzheimer’s disease for seniors and that his company will continue to develop contents and programs specializes for seniors through this cooperation.
Meanwhile, GeniRobot has been selected for seven public projects in this year alone and it has shown its potential and technical skills.
