EMERIX is set to participate in ‘Electronics Manufacturing Korea 2019 (henceforth referred to as EMK 2019)’ which will be held from this coming May 15th (Wed), to the 17th (Fri), to showcase their experimental flying probe equipment, ‘TK-2’, which they developed in-house using their own technology.

EMERIX is a professional developer of flying probes that is active in exchanges and signed export contracts not only domestically, but in 13 other nations as well, and it is leading the way in supplying flying probe testers.

The ‘TK-2’ flying probe is able to detect reverse mounting, wrong mounting, and non mounting using the V-I TEST, and it uses the DMM TEST to measure various capacity values and impedance of each part. In addition, it provides OPEN & SHORT, VOLTAGE, CURRENT TEST, and other various PCB composite defect detection solutions.

The TK-2 is evaluated as a device that can test the product through its own developed algorithm even without CAD data and can solve issues arising from the lack of testing due to the board test data not being provided. In addition, the TK-2 is capable of running programs with short-term training, eliminating the need for additional fixtures, and enabling automatic entering of location of parts (CAD, Gerber).

Conventional flying probes have a drawback in that they are too expensive and the test time is long compared with existing test equipment such as ICT, so it is difficult to apply them to mass production lines. However, EMERIX’s TK-2 is a product that can be expected to replace imports with reasonable cost and various functions compared to expensive foreign-owned equipment. They have developed a niche market for specialized fields that require in-depth testing such as small-volume product testing, repair, quality assurance, and R & D.

An official revealed, “EMERIX is aiming to continuously supply and improve the quality of their flying probes to enter the European market.”

Meanwhile, Korea Electronics Manufacturing Korea has grown into an internationally recognized exhibition, receiving steady interest from domestic and foreign buyers as Korea’s largest electronics manufacturing exhibition. Since 2017, it has been Co-hosted with ‘Autotronics Manufacturing Korea (AMK)', and provides various seminars and events for exhibitors and visitors.
