In September last year, OCI, Seoul city and the Energy & Peace signed an MOU on the construction of 100 MW solar power plant. This month, OCI and the City of Seoul have started a joint project to build a 100 MW solar power plant in earnest as OCI held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of 5MW Amsa Solar Power Plant at the Amsa Arisu Water Purification Center, with the participation of 200 people including Wonsoon Park, mayor of Seoul City, Jeongwook Kim, Chief Director of Energy & Peace and Sangyeol Kim, Vice Chairman of OCI. The Amsa Plant is the first solar power plant built as agreed by the MOU between the three parties and is the biggest in Seoul. The plant is built on a 75,000 square meter site of the Amsa Arisu Water Purification Center, including the upper parts of 1st water purification plant filter tank and 2nd water purification tank sedimentation basin. OCI and Energy & Peace will be in charge of maintaining and operating the facility for 20 years until 2032. The power plant will generate 6 GWh of electricity per year, which is enough to supply power to 1,850 households and the generated electricity will be sold to Korea Southern Power Corporation (KOSPO).
OCI 서울에 5㎿규모 태양광발전소 준공
OCI와 서울시가 추진하는 태양광발전소 100㎿ 조성 프로젝트가 본격 시작됐다.
OCI(사장 이우현)는 30일 서울시 강동구 암사동에 위치한 암사아리수정수센터에서 박원순 서울시장, 김정욱 에너지나눔과평화 이사장, 김상열 OCI부회장 등 관계자 200여명이 참석한 가운데 5㎿ 규모 `암사태양광발전소` 준공식을 가졌다.
지난해 9월 OCI와 서울시, 에너지나눔과평화가 맺은 100㎿ 규모 태양광발전소 양해각서 교환에 따라 건설된 첫 번째 발전소다. 서울에 설치된 태양광발전소 가운데 최대 규모다. 지난 4월 착공한 발전소는 암사아리수정수센터 제1 정수장 여과지 상부, 제2 정수장 침전지 상부 등 내부 부지 7만5000㎡에 건설됐다. OCI와 에너지나눔과평화가 오는 2032년까지 20년간 시설의 운영 및 관리와 유지보수 등 발전소 운영을 맡는다.
발전소에서 생산되는 전력은 연간 1850가구가 사용할 수 있는 6GWh에 달하며 한국남부발전에 판매할 계획이다.
김상열 OCI 부회장은 “암사태양광발전소는 OCI가 국내에 최초로 건설한 태양광발전소로 향후 서울에 100㎿, 전국 400㎿를 건설해 국내 태양광발전이 활성화되는 시기를 더욱 앞당기겠다”고 말했다.
