Samsung Electronics is looking to restore its business in Chinese Smartphone market, where its market share fell to about 1%, through Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus.
Samsung Electronics announced Galaxy S9 series in Guangzhou on the 6th (Chinese time). It is planning to officially release Galaxy S0 series, which will be available in midnight black, coral blue, and lilac purple colors, on the 16th.
“Samsung has been born again as a true business for Chinese market.” said Director (President) Ko Dong-jin of Samsung Electronics’ IM Division. “We are going to provide new values to Chinese consumers and local economies and continuously invest into innovative technologies.”

After recording its highest value of market share in 2013 with 19.7% in the fourth quarter of 2013, its market share plummeted to 1.7% in the fourth quarter of 2017 due to Chinese Smartphone manufacturers such as Huawei, OPPO, and VIVO and failed strategies.
Samsung Electronics established a business system that combines entire groups such as research & development, production, sales, and service in China and started a new strategy that will enhance its opportunities in China. It also enhanced its partnership with Chinese businesses such as Baidu, Alibaba, WeChat, Mobike, and Jingdong.
Samsung Electronics is also operating ‘Butler Service’, which was first introduced through Galaxy S8 and provides optimal software whenever Chinese consumers replace displays and batteries of their Smartphones.
