A switch and LED module specialist, Sungmun Electronics (CEO: Lee Gang-il) embarked on targeting domestic and international markets following a compact rotary type DIP switch development.
Sungmun Electronics announced on the 15th that the company had recently developed a compact rotary DIP switch measuring 7.4?7.4mm in size and showcased it for the first time at the ‘Korea Electronics Show (KES) 2014 held in KINTEX, Goyang and that it is scheduled to exhibit it at the China Electronic Fair in Shanghai, China at the end of this month and Electronica to start next month in Munich, Germany.
The compact rotary type DIP switch developed by this company is available in MS Series, MA Series and MD Series, which have been designed differentially to meet the various needs of customers and according to different purposes of use. In addition, this product is supplied as a surface mount device (SMD) type or an angle type.
The size having been reduced by almost 30% than the existing products, which measure 10?10mm, this product can be used in compact controllers that require a more precise control function. Durability has been improved by changing the internal structure and the contact area was gold-plated to lower contact resistance. Being waterproof, this product is also strong against moisture.
Rotary DIP switch is suitable for all devices that require precision control, such as system air conditioner control, automated facility control, lighting control and even solar cell facility control. In Korea, Sungmun Electronics first localized this technology in 2007 and is supplying the product to key companies in the U.S., Europe and Southeast Asia as well as large enterprises in Korea, such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics.

스위치 및 LED모듈 전문업체인 성문일렉트로닉스(대표 이강일)가 초소형 로터리 딥스위치를 개발, 국내외 시장 공략에 나선다.
성문일렉트로닉스는 최근 7.4×7.4㎜ 크기 초소형 로터리 딥스위치를 개발, 고양 킨텍스에서 개막한 ‘한국전자전(KES 2014)’에 첫 선을 보인데 이어 이달 말 중국 상하이 전자전시회와 다음달 독일 뮌헨에서 열리는 일렉트로니카에도 잇따라 출품할 예정이라고 15일 밝혔다.
이 회사가 개발한 초소형 미니 로터리 딥스위치는 사용 용도와 고객사 요구에 맞춰 디자인 한 MS시리즈와 MA시리즈 및 MD시리즈 3종으로 표면실장(SMD) 타입과 앵글 타입 등 필요에 따라 제공한다.
10×10㎜ 크기인 기존 제품 보다 크기를 30% 가까이 줄여 더욱 정밀한 제어가 필요한 소형 컨트롤 제어장치에 사용할 수 있도록 한 것이 특징이다. 내부구조를 변경해 내구성을 높이고, 접촉부위에 금도금을 해 접촉 저항도 줄였다. 방수타입이라 습기에도 강하다.
로터리 딥 스위치는 시스템 에어컨과 자동화설비 제어부분, 조명제어, 태양광전지 설비 제어부분 등 정밀한 제어가 필요한 기기에 적합한 부품이다. 국내에서는 성문일렉트로닉스가 지난 2007년 처음으로 국산화해 삼성전자?LG전자 등 국내 대기업을 비롯해 미국?유럽?동남아 주요 기업에 공급 중이다.
