LG Display and Yonsei University will establish the first recruitment-linked display contract department in Korea. Unprecedented support such as full scholarship and job security will be provided to enrolled students.

LG Display announced that it has signed an agreement at Yonsei University's Sinchon Campus on the establishment of a "Display fusion engineering department." LG Display President Ho-young Jeong, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Vice President Soo-young Yoon, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHO) Executive Director Song Sang-ho, Yonsei University President Seung-hwan Seo, College of Engineering Dean Jae-min Myung, and Academic affairs Dean Tae-yoon Seong attended the signing ceremony on the 7th.

LG Display and Yonsei University will recruit new students by establishing a "Display fusion engineering department" with a capacity of 30 people within the engineering college from 2023. The goal is to organize specialized classes in all technical fields such as electronics, electricity, physics, chemistry, and materials related to the display industry in the new department to cultivate next-generation display talents professionally and systematically.

LG Display offers exceptional benefits to students who is enrolling the department. Tuition and dormitory fees are fully provided to enrolled students, and tuition subsidies are also paid separately when basic requirements are met. If there is no reason for disqualification, 100% employment at LG Display after graduation will be guaranteed.

LG Display expects that it will be able to systematically secure key talents necessary to strengthen the competitiveness of next-generation display businesses, including OLED, through the establishment of a new display contract department.

President Ho-young Jeong said, “In addition to next-generation technological innovation, the display industry must create a new market through collaboration with various industries such as transportation and architecture in addition to the existing home appliances and information technology (IT)” added “Display fusion engineering department will open to be an important program to systematically cultivate key talents in the future for this purpose.”
