SYNOPEX made a positive performance during the second quarter as its sales and operating profit increased by two times and six times respectively compared to last year.
It announced publically that it made $53.5 million (63.3 billion KRW) and $7.02 million (8.3 billion KRW) in sales and operating profit respectively during the second quarter. Its sales increased by 99% compared to its sales in the second quarter of last year ($26.9 million (31.8 billion KRW)) and its operating profit increased by 592% compared to its operating profit ($1.01 million (1.2 billion KRW)).
Looking at its performance semi-annually, its sales in the first half of this year ($95.2 million (112.5 billion KRW)) increased by 40% compared to its sales in the first half of last year ($68.1 million (80.5 billion KRW)). Its operating profit also increased by 93% from $4.82 million (5.7 billion KRW) to $9.30 million (11 billion KRW).
SYNOPEX explained that its performance comes from its continuous efforts such as upgrading FPCB (Flexible Printed Circuit Board) equipment from its production base in Vietnam and production capacity to secure additional customers and supplies.
Its sales and operating profit in the first half of this year increased greatly compared to last year due to noticeable improvement in productivity of SYNOPEX VINA2, which is its FPCB production base in Vietnam, steady growth of water treatment and filter businesses, and increased outputs of new parts.
“Although economy of IT industry has been struggling since last year, we had experienced qualitative and quantitative growth during the first half of this year.” said a representative for SYNOPEX. “Although economy will be unclear during the second half as well, we are going to do our best to continue this positive trend through continuous efforts.”
