EXSO is set to participate in ‘Electronics Manufacturing Korea 2019 (henceforth referred to as EMK 2019)’ which will be held from this coming May 15th (Wed), to the 17th (Fri), to showcase their automatic soldering robot, the ‘AutoRo-5634’.

EXSO is the only company in Korea that has a KS certification for electric soldering irons and has directly developed and manufactured electric soldering iron tips for over 40 years. Unlike previous years, this automatic soldering robot is equipped with a high-capacity, high-frequency induction heating type soldering iron reaching 230W and a thermostat, and it is optimized for the production of connectors with thick terminals sockets and a large number of pins, and for the production of products which use multilevel boards with over 4 levels.

They also plan to showcase a soldering iron head unit, developed over multiple years of technological development, which can be used to control soldering irons of various angles. Also, the rod feeder mounted on the robot uses the V-cutter which has had the application of unique heat treatment technology, which shows superior perforating force and minimizes the scattering of flux generated during soldering.

An official has said, “By setting the initial introduction costs, which has been an obstacle in the adoption of new equipment, at under 15,000,000 KRW, we are providing an opportunity for hesitant SMEs to open up to the adoption of new equipment,” and they revealed that “We are developing an automatic soldering robot together with Autonics, a leading domestic automobile parts, and sensor manufacturer, for serious exportation, using the automatic soldering robot technology accrued over many years.”

This robot is a next-generation robot that is much more advanced than the robots currently sold and can use Ethernet communication, thus allowing for communication between robots. Besides, it has 16 ports of I/O SYS, which enables ON/OFF communication with external devices, and can control external devices with the COM terminal.

The release of the new product is expected to have the effect of raising the prices of existing automatic soldering robots, with the standardization and mass production of parts. Therefore, with a powerful robot product which can enter both domestic and overseas markets, EXSO is expecting an explosive growth in sales and job creation in 2020.

Meanwhile, Korea Electronics Manufacturing Korea has grown into an internationally recognized exhibition, receiving steady interest from domestic and foreign buyers as Korea’s largest electronics manufacturing exhibition. Since 2017, it has been Co-hosted with ‘Autotronics Manufacturing Korea (AMK),' and provides various seminars and events for exhibitors and visitors.
