‘Klaytn’, Kakao’s blockchain platform, will be connected to various companies that have large number of users.
Kakao announced that it signed partnership with 8 businesses such as Watcha and Xanadoo.
Watcha and Xanadoo are currently pushing for blockchain projects Contents Protocol and Atlas respectively. Klatyn signed partnership with 9 businesses such as ‘WeMadeTree’ and ‘Piction Network’ in October.
These partners will suggest technical improvements while using Klatyn testnet and increase level of perfection of Klatyn and they are going to introduce their DApp (Decentralized Application) services according to mainnet launch.
Contents Protocol is a blockchain project of Watcha, which has 4.5 million users and operates a movie recommendation service.
Watcha records activities such as recommendation, scoring, and review done by users on Watcha Play into blockchain and compensates them according to their levels of contribution. It is planning to expand its blockchain technology by working with platforms that have various contents such as music and e-book.
‘Atlas’, which is a blockchain project by a luxury Chinese travel agency that has more than 2 million users, will also be provided through Klaytn.
Atlas is a blockchain-based travel data platform. It collects travel data through its users, travel agencies, airlines, and hotels and provides reliable travel information.

Way2Bit, which developed a blockchain-based digital contents platform called ‘BORA’, will also participate in Klaytn. BORA lowers entry barriers towards blockchain technology and token development for contents providers and provides Smart Contract environment.
Way2Bit guarantees stability of its users’ assets and provides UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) that are easy to use. It currently has partnership with more than 20 companies including major South Korean game developers such as 433, Action Square, Factorial Games, and ThumbAge and is carrying out joint projects with them.
“We expect to develop blockchain services that are easily accessible.” said CEO Han Jae-seon of Ground X who is in charge of development of Klaytn. “We are going to focus on developing successful and practical cases that blockchain technology is currently faced with our partners.”
Klaytn, which is currently operating its testnet on limited partners since October, aims for universalization of blockchain technology. For this, it provides UX and UI that are easy to use and DX (Developer Experience) that allows developers to easily develop blockchain services. It will take care of work that requires consensus through consensus node, which is comprised of service providers with strong sense of responsibility and request for consensus and confirmation of results through ranger node. Its mainnet will be launched during the first half of 2019.
