Number of jobs made by cryptocurrency exchanges surpassed 1,500. It was confirmed that cryptocurrency exchanges have contributed to ‘job creation’ based on financial and IT R&D teams.
Korea Blockchain Association (Chairman Jin Dae-jae) announced status of employment and tax payment by 15 of its members.
Total of 1,520 executives and employees were employed by the end of last month and 61% of them were in R&D field regarding finance and IT.
It was calculated that amount of tax payment between last year and September of this year by these 15 cryptocurrency exchanges came out to be about $146 million (165.6 billion KRW).
“Cryptocurrency exchanges are creating ‘good job’ markets and they are also hiring people mainly for their R&D departments.” said Choi Hwa-in, who is the dean of Blockchain Campus. “We need to look for ways to promote these exchanges as future financial platforms.” Dean Choi Hwa-in also predicted that number of jobs and amount of tax payment by South Korean exchanges would be much more since this statistics only accounts for members of Korea Blockchain Association.
