World’s first decentralized game multiverse that allows people to enjoy different worlds of games through blockchain technology is set to be developed soon.
Multiverse called ‘Oasis’, which is applied to games in a blockbuster SF movie ‘Ready Player One’, is actually going to be made real through blockchain technology.
Enjin (CEO Maxim Blagov) announced that 6 game developers started on a project that will create a multiverse that allows gamers to use their assets from a game in other games by using EnjinCoin’s platform and new Ethereum ERC-1155 token standard. Enjin is a blockchain-based game development platform and it provides EnjinCoin (ENJ).
6 games such as Age of Rust, 9 Lives Arena, CryptoFights, War of Crypto, Cats in Mechs, and ForestNights that already announced their intents to use ENJ platform and ERC-1155 standard are participating in Enjin’s project to implement blockchain-based multiverse.
Core technologies of this project are ENJ platform and ERC-1155 crypto item standard. ERC-1155 is a new Ethereum token standard proposed by CTO Witek Radomski of Enjin. It can put up to 200 ERC-20 tokens that can be replaced and ERC-721 crypto-assets that cannot be replaced into single Smart Contract and process through single transaction. By eliminating source codes that are repeated whenever ERC-20 and ERC-721 token standards-based items are created, it has high efficiency, fast processing speed, and low transaction cost.

First item will be ‘Age of Rust’ currently being developed by Space Pirate. Age of Rust will be the first game in the world to provide blockchain-based P2P (Peer to Peer) item rental market.
“Decentralized items that can be used in other games are truly next-generation innovation.” said Space Pirate through its Twitter last month. “We are currently working with other game developers and Enjin’s ERC-1155 token standard will make our goal come true.”
When multiverse is implemented, gamers that possess certain items can use same items in other games as well. Ultimately, it provides a single connected world to gamers. Every game that is included in multiverse will be known naturally. Gamers will also be able to share their experience points.
For example, if a gamer achieves level 5 in War of Crypto, corresponding experience points will be applied to Age of Rust as well.
Game developers that are participating in this project are using ENJ’s unity plugin. Enjin is set to launch Enjin Unity SDK and it is also planning to introduce Enjin Smart Wallet that supports ERC-1155 token standard.
