A blockchain game that is based on a next-generation cryptocurrency standard ERC-1155, which is developed by an online game community platform operator called ‘Engine’, is set to be released.
A Canadian game developer called Touchhour made an announcement that it will be releasing a real-time PvP RPG (Player-versus-Player Role-Playing Game) called ‘9 Lives Arena’ sometime during next spring.
Touchhour is currently developing 9 Lives Arena for PC, X-Box, and Play Station 4. 9 Lives Arena will be the first ERC-1155-based blockchain game for X-Box and Play Station.

ERC-1155 was developed by CTO Witek Radomski of Engine, who is the father of ‘Crypto Kitty Code (ERC-721)’. It combines characteristics of ERC-20 and ERC-721 and allows transactions between tokens that are based on ERC-20 and ERC-721. It processes ‘atomic swap’, which is an exchange of different coins without going through cryptocurrency exchanges, through two-step transactions and it also implements multi-transmission function that sends desired amount to more than one receiver through single transaction.
9 Lives Arena utilizes Engine’s blockchain platform and it allows users to store game characters and items into cryptocurrency wallets. Another characteristic of 9 Lives Arena is the fact that history and records of mission achievements are stored in blockchain forever whenever a character loses its 9 lives that are given.
Touchhour is finished an alpha-test of 9 Lives Arena and is currently working on second half of development. It will hold a beta-test before it releases 9 Lives Arena by selecting a gamer. 9 Lives Arena also supports Korean.
