Electronic document industries are going to actively deal with Industry 4.0. Their plans are to increase business opportunities corresponding to timing of change in industrial paradigms and conversion from paper documents to digital documents.
Korea Digital Content Association (KDCA, Chairman Park Mi-kyung) held its ‘12th General Meeting’ at Best Western Premier Hotel in Seoul on the 27th and presented ‘2018 DCA’ as its slogan for 2018.
DCA indicates increase in number of business opportunities due to digital conversion, changes in industrial paradigms, and enhanced legal effect of electronic documents, which are at the core Industry 4.0.
KDCA is going to actively provide its support for research and political cooperation, promotion of electronic document industries, vitalization of relevant markets, and international partnership.
While holding ‘Paperless 2.0 Conference’ and ‘Seminar for Financial Industries on Utilization of Electronic Documents’ during the first half of 2018, KDCA is also going to attend various international conferences that are related to electronic document. KDCA announced that it is planning to take active measures in increasing number of demands for electronic documents and emphasize importance of electronic document, which is an important infrastructure of Industry 4.0, at the same time.
At the announcement of ‘Trend of Electronic Document Industries in 2018’, Department Head Jeon Il of KDCA focused on next-generation electronic documents during Industry 4.0.

“By improving various regulations and modifying legal systems such as ‘Revision of Basic Laws for Electronic Documents and Electronic Trades’, which was pre-announced in last December, environments where new industrial demands and models can appear have been formed.” said Department Head Jeon. “By introducing blockchain technology on full-scale, we have to expand applicability of electronic documents in various fields such as public, finance, hospital, education, and manufacturing.”
Professor Park Sung-joon of Dongkuk University, who was invited for a lecture, introduced blockchain as an emerging topic for electronic document industries during his lecture with a topic ‘Blockchain Paradigm and Innovative Management of Electronic Document’.
Professor Park drew attention by examining current sate of blockchain industries, which have emerged as a hot topic for Industry 4.0, and focusing on values and vision of management of electronic document as a future industry.
During 2017, KDCA had led global economic trend by developing international standards for electronic receipts for B2B distribution, risk management model for electronic records based on Cloud service, and credible distribution platform for electronic documents.
KDCA has been focusing on expanding groundwork for electronic documents by holding ‘Paperless 2.0 Conference in 2017’ and ‘Political Debate for Vitalizing Electronic Receipt’ in 2017. It has also focused on international partnership by operating Official Electronic Document Distribution Council and Financial Institution Electronic Document Council.
“Electronic document is a competitive edge that can solidify one’s leading position in global business settings.” said Chairman Park Mi-kyung. “This general meeting is a place where we sympathize importance of electronic document industries and our roles of leading generational paradigm.”
