DIGNIS (http://www.dignis.co.kr/), an e-shopping site specializing in leather goods and accessories for mobile devices, is gaining popularity outside South Korea. Its global success is due to its designs that emphasize certain particular traits of each individual device.
“Instead of unveiling new items at a fast pace, we only launch products that will supplement the device,” said the CEO of DIGNIS, Dae-Woong Cho. He further added that for one MP3 player brand, known for overheating, he designed the back of the case so it will allow easy ventilation.
Items sold on DIGNIS include leather cases for MP3 players, cameras, cell phones, and laptops. Also, it creates all of its own designs in addition to controlling production, distribution, and sale.
As DIGNIS is achieving more recognition worldwide with its designs, more buyers from different countries are placing orders. As of now, DIGNIS’ items are available in Japan, Hong Kong, US, and Europe. From DIGNIS’ total on- and offline sales combined, 90% comes from global sales.

“Knowing the global demand for IT device-related goods and accessories would be high, we launched the English version (http://dignisdesign.com/) of our website through cafe24 (www.cafe24corp.com/en), the global e-commerce platform, to provide a faster response to the increasing number of international buyers and customers,” explained CEO Cho.
In addition, DIGNIS saw a pique in more customers’ interest ever since it posted more competitive items together with their respective prices.
Most customers are men in their 30s and 40s. There are individual customers as well as companies buying from DIGNIS. It also partners with famous IT companies as they ask DIGNIS to design cases for their devices. They sometimes ask DIGNIS to join them for the entire design and production process as well.
CEO Cho went on to say, “IT devices and their cases will constantly evolve. We will grow to be the designer brand of leather goods and accessories for these devices by strengthening our competitiveness.”
