Some Are Suggesting That Only Time Will Show More Responses

Although iPhone 6S was released, overall atmosphere and responses towards it are not as popular as iPhone 6.

Some are predicting that sales volume of iPhone 6S will fall short of that of iPhone 6 due to its expensive price, and there are also many opinions that we need to give it a little bit of time since it is still early and activation of cellphones is not possible since the 25th is Sunday.

According to telecommunication industries, ‘iPhone 6S Crisis’ that many were worried about did not happen as of 12 P.M. on the 25th. Before its official release date of the 23rd, many people were in a line in front of Apple stores and 3 mobile telecommunication businesses’ stores. However these people are just people that want to purchase iPhone 6S before others and there weren’t any people who were in a line after hearing about a rumor of an illegal payback.

Distribution district during the first weekend was very calm. One of the stores in Mapo looked ordinary as usual and although there are people who visited this store here and there, not all of them were customers that were looking to inquire about iPhone 6S.

“Although number of customers who visited the stores has increased due to iPhone 6S, it is not like last year.” said one owner of a store. “64GB model, which is a model that customers are looking for the most, can be activated at anywhere if a customer wants.”

iPhone 6 was released last year on a Friday of the 31st of October, and rebates from mobile telecommunication businesses started to increase starting from a Saturday of the 1st of November at 2 P.M. Afterwards huge crisis had occurred between 8 P.M. on a Saturday to morning of the next day. When popularity of 16GB model started to decrease, competition about illegal paybacks on 16GB model started to happen.

One of the biggest reasons why iPhone 6S is not as popular as iPhone 6S is due to its price. Even though its appearance does not look too different to iPhone 6S, it is about $70.41 (80,000 KRW (16GB model standard)) more expensive due to exchange rate. Its early funding, which is about $105.62 to $114.42 (120,000 KRW to 130,000 KRW) based on a biggest rate system, from mobile telecommunication businesses also decreased about half from last year’s.

Even if a customer receives a biggest funding from a mobile telecommunication business, he or she has to pay more than $616.12 (700,000 KRW) to purchase iPhone 6S, which makes people believe that customers are hesitant about spending a lot of money for iPhone 6S. Because people who buy iPhones will buy iPhone 6S regardless, some people are suggesting that a prediction that sales volume of iPhone 6S will be lower than that of iPhone 6 is hasty. Out of people who love Apple products, there are definitely a group of people who just buy S models such as 5S and 6S.

If a fact that 20% discount is actually more advantageous than funding is known to people, it will have a impact on increase of sales volume.

If a customer receives 20% discount from iPhone 6S’s biggest rate system, which offers funding of $105.62 to $114.42, he or she can receive about $440.08 (500,000 KRW) of discount during 2 years. It is more advantageous to agree upon 20% discount if a customer is buying products with high store price with low public funding.

“A reason why lines in front of stores such as Frisbee and others that specialize in selling Apple products were shorter than last year is because there are no advantages in waiting in a line since 20% discount from mobile telecommunication businesses are fixed while manufacturers’ store prices are high. Although it is true that early mood is not the same as last year’s, we need to look at situations little bit longer.” said one person affiliated with a mobile telecommunication business.
