Industrial robot business called TES sent a challenge to Japan’s stronghold where robot is originated from.

TES announced on the 27th that it is supplying its vacuum conveyor robot to Japanese Company A’s Gen 10 mass-production process through global semiconductor and display equipment industries. Although it had supplied to Korean industries and Chinese display business after it received agreement to supply to mass-production, this is the first time it is entering Japanese market. It is releasing its products at the end of this month.

Japanese Company A newly introduced vacuum equipment as it installed additional extension to Gen 10 mass-production line recently. Vacuum conveyor robot is a system that automatically moves display panels while it is in high-temperature and vacuum states and it is a major component in vacuum equipment. During the moving process, there cannot be wobbles or sags and particle occurrence needs to be minimized. Higher technology levels are required as size of panels become bigger. Until now, this market was dominated by large-sized Japanese companies such as Daisen, Sankyo, and etc.

TSE simplified design structure and focused on increasing durability through years of research development. It also greatly strengthened stability by applying improved control program.

TSE simplified design structure and focused on increasing durability through years of research development. It also greatly strengthened stability by applying improved control program.

“We developed this product by mobilizing all know-how and technologies that we were able to gain from developing vacuum robot from Gen 6 up to maximum of Gen 11. It is very significant that we were able to receive security and verification in our technologies in developing large-sized vacuum robots and export them to Japan whose strength is in developing robots. It is also very encouraging to see that Korea’s equipment received confirmation in its technology level and was supplied additionally while it is at a state where Japanese businesses’ equipment is applied in first investment.” CEO An Seung Wook of TES said that it is very meaningful for them to export robots to Japan.

By supplying its products as opportunity, TES is strengthening its position in 10 Gen or higher large-sized display equipment market. It is hoping that this case will bring a positive effect in securing China’s BOE, which is out to invest in Gen 10.5 LCD product line, as its customer.
