Korea’s printing companies are becoming active in entering into foreign markets. Along with Samsung Electronics who already became global at an earlier time, Sindoh. Co. who is at the top position in Korea, is also aiming for foreign markets by having this year as its starting point.

Samsung Electronics is expanding its printing solution business by entering into advanced markets such as the U.S. and Europe, as well as emerging markets such as China and South East Asia. As it separates itself in laser market, it became number 2 last year in world’s A4 laser market share based on market investigative company called IDC. It is number 1 in Korea, Germany, Italy, and Thailand.

It is also distinguishing itself in A3 area. To overcome barriers such as Kyocera, Sharp, and Furi Xerox, it has incorporated Samsung Electronics’ IT’s abilities. It introduced additional solutions such as Cloud Printing and Smart Printing Diagnostic System (SPDS) to maximize users’ convenience. SPDS is currently being provided in 9 different languages in 51 countries and it is planning to expand the number of those countries.

By appointing Matthew Smith, who is a specialist in B2B Marketing and worked for Intel and HP, as the Vice-President of printing solution at foreign branch in the U.S., Samsung Electronics is focusing on strengthening business network by not just products, but ‘Manpower’ as well. “We are going to provide differentiated products on the basis of variety of basic technologies such as semiconductor, chemistry, equipment, and mobile. We are providing variety of goods such as home products to A3 ink-jet for companies.” A person affiliated with Samsung Electronics said about its variety of goods that it is providing.

Sindoh. Co. is seeking its expansion to foreign markets as it is releasing its developed products to the U.S., China, Middle East, and Spain by global brand called ‘Sindoh’ that it has set out in 2008. It visited 6 cities in 5 different states and held ‘Sindoh American Road Show’ where one can exchange with dealers of that country. It is currently providing products to large distribution company and 120 dealers that specialize in office devices.

At Chinese market where Sindoh already set its foot in, it participated in ‘Chinese Office Device Exposition’ that was held in Hangzhou in May and showed its new business areas such as ink-jets, printing products, and 3D printers. It is focusing on expanding its market by setting corporate bodies at 4 different areas and corporate body that will oversee the purchasing process in China.

It is focusing on introducing its product by gathering cooperative companies in Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait. Although its world market’s share is insignificant since it just barely entered, it has set its experience of being in the top position in Korea as its strength. “Customers are satisfied with our efforts in securing competitiveness globally in products, design, service, and etc. We are going to make meaningful results in foreign markets by working together with our cooperative companies.” Chairman Woo Seok Hyeong of Sindoh. Co. said about what it is doing to satisfy its customers.
