Samsung Electronics’ ‘Galaxy S6’ and ‘Galaxy S6 Edge’ have been open to the public for the first time on the 23rd. A telecommunication company’s direct management store, in which the experience zone was prepared, was rather quiet. The store employee explained that this was because it was not well promoted.

What a customer who visited the experience event hall with both curiosity and expectation said first was, “The design is pretty.” A lot of attention was drawn by the Galaxy S6 Edge, which has round displays on its left and right sides. Upon hearing from the store employee that the expected price was nearly 900 dollars, customers commented that it was somewhat expensive.

Choi(36 years old, self-employed), who visited the LG U+ direct management store in Jongno-gu, Seoul said, “I use Galaxy S4 now, and compared to that, Galaxy S6’s screen seems to be much brighter. Since Galaxy S6 Edge has a curved surface, it seems more attractive.”

Lee, a student at Yonsei University Graduate School, who visited the Sinchon SK Telecom direct management store said, “I use Galaxy S3, and I’ve come here to switch to Galaxy S6. I like the design.” He also seemed interested in the wireless charger and supplementary battery at the store.

One customer who had constantly used only iPhones from iPhone 4 to iPhone 6 now said, “I’ve come to see Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge because I had expectations for the designs. I think there are many changes concerning the UI,” adding that the solid bottom type battery and the price may be a drawback.

Overall customers were generous in their scores on Galaxy S6 Edge’s design. However, many responded that the factory price will greatly affect purchases. Some replied that if Galaxy S6 Edge is over 90 dollars more costly than Galaxy S6, they will simply purchase Galaxy S6.

There were less people than expected on the first day of the event. This was due to the lack of stores proceeding the event and the lack of promotion. The number of visiting customers increased after lunch time at the KT Gwanghwamun Olleh Square, Jongo-gu LG U+ direct management store, and SK Telecom Sinchon direct management store.

Samsung Electronics is heating the atmosphere before the official release of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on April 10th, with the experience event. Starting from March 23rd, one can directly experience products in over 1400 Digital Plaza, Hi-mart, Electro Land, and telecommunication company stores across the country. On the night of March 24th, the ‘Samsung Galaxy S6 First Look’ collaboration event will be held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul with a fashion designer.

Communications service providers start online subscription sales on April 1st. Announcements on subscription sales are currently in progress in businesses separately. Lotte Hi-mart started their subscription sales one step ahead from the 23rd at 437 stores nationwide and their online shopping mall.
