Samsung Electronics is on the move to mass-producing 128GB smartphone internal memory, which is the currently the maximum capacity. Their goal is to lead in expanding the memory size for smartphones.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 19th that they officially will be producing 128GB internal memory for smartphone based on 3 bit NAND flash. It is product with internal storage standard ‘eMMC 5.0’ applied.
Samsung plans to lead and advance the mobile memory market first through development of 128GB internal memory lineup.
The 128GB smartphone internal memory has 3 times faster consecutive reading speed of 260MB/s than the previous high functioning memory card (90MB/s). It has 5000IOPS (Input Output Per Second) random writing speed, which is 10 times faster than memory card, and also has 6000 IOPS random reading speed, which is 4 times faster. It is optimized for standard smartphones so that it can process HD videos and multi-tasking process with ease.
The manager for Samsung Electronics memory business department had said, “We will lead the trend of 3 bit internal memory line-up in upgrading the memory and the mobile phone itself. We will continue to create upgraded lineups for the future in order to satisfy our customers’ demands.”
